The Myers Memories and Jessi's Jems are moving to a new virtual home. I've loved my time at Typepad, but I need to save some money so I'm moving my blog to a free site. Most of my posts are staying here but all the card tutorials have moved.
Don't worry - I'll still be posting tutorials and how to's. So go check out our new home:

I hope you've enjoyed the latest cards, and come back next week for 2 more fabulous cards.
The first card was made with an A2 card cut from Raspberry Cardstock.
Cut a piece or Raspberry Cardstock 8.5" x 5.5" - score at 4.25" so that your card folds in half and you now have a base that is 5.5"x4.25".
Cut the coordinating mat from the Simply Beautiful MIlestones Kit down to 5.25"x4" and mat on the front of the card.
Attach a pink and white flower to the matching flower on the patterned paper using Foam Adhesive.
Tape a tape to the top right hand corner and adorn with yellow butterfly sticker.
The second card was made with and A2 card from Green Apple Cardstock.
Cut a piece of Green Apple Cardstock to 8.5"x5.5" - score at 4.25" so that your card folds in half, giving you a card base that is 5.5" x4.25".
Trim a piece of Mediterranean Cardstock down to 5.25"x4" and adhere to the front of the card.
Trim down the Green Journaling page from the Simply Beautiful Milestones Kit down to approx 5"x3.75" and adhere to the center of the blue cardstock.
Cut off a piece of the grey paper ribbon from the Simply Beautiful Paper Ribbons - cut approx. 2.5" - 3". Snip the ribbon in half and adhere to the front and back of the top of the large grey and green circle tag. You want it to look like the ribbon is going through the whole of the tag.
Tape down the tag to the front of your card.
Embellish the upper left part of the tag with 2 yellow flowers and 1 white flower. I used tape for the 2 yellow flowers and foam adhesive for the white flower right between the yellow flowers.
For the finishing touch, put a green epoxy dot sticker over the ribbon on your tag and the blue and brown square sticker in the lower right corner of your card.
These 2 cards are quick and easy and can be finished in 10 minutes. You can also watch me make these cards to see just how easy they are!

Happy Spring Bloggers! The weather here is finally starting to warm up. The past week has been simply beautiful.
This week has been full of adventure and frustration. Dave started building our Windows Home Server last weekend. After much poking, prodding and sarcastic remarks from our friend Chris, Dave finally did it. Well, at least he tried. Chris was all "Oh do this, do that...it's easy..." So Dave did this, and that and 4 days later he was ready to punch a whole through the wall. This was not turning out to be easy at all. After several days of cussing, not sleeping, and basicly going nuts trying to fix the issues Dave had an epiphany. Don't ask me what popped in his head...I don't really understand it all...I'm just glad he had it 'cause now our server works. I can now access our videos, music, and pics from anywhere with an internet connection. Yay! I can also back up my laptop nightly without all the dragging and dropping and waiting for the system to work. It's awesome!
Does anyone out there play Farmville? I know, random topic change, and you're all shocked that Dave would let me play that kind of game...he understands that I have the attention span of a 6 year old when it comes to video games, or poor imitations - that's why he allows it. :) Anyway - My patience with this game was about to run out. Last week I befriended distant relatives (really an ex of my Uncle and her new hubs and brother....not a good idea). Then I added them as Neighbors on Farmville. Before I knew it my Home Page and Farmville game feed was smothered and covered in gift requests from the same 3 people "Give me this, give me that..." Seriously? What do you possibly need with 650 Easter Eggs? They are also notorious gift snipers. Everytime I or my mom or Gramndma would post an acheivement or gift for eachother, they would snipe it and ith'd be gone before we ever got a chance to retrieve it. And I'm not talking about my procrastination where I'd wait an hour or two...I'm talking Imy Grandma was on the phone with my cousing Vicki, she said ok, I just clicked share. Vick clicked on the claim it within seconds and WTH? It's already gone? RIDICULOUS! So, to cure that I axe'd em all. If I became your friend just to get neighbors on Farmville, I'm sorry, but you've been removed. Facebook really isn't for that, I've decided.
In Creative News, I am still looking for volunteers intereseted in helping Creative Memories test a new super secret service/ product. Want to help, or know more details, email me at jessi.myers.cm@gmail.com I am also starting a monthly creative club for my Creative Memories customers, friends and family called "Club Create". Every month I will be teaching a new project, and I will be selling supplies for the project or you can adapt the project to fit your own supplies. May 1st will be my first online class session for Club Create, and the first project will feature Simply Beautiful Cards from Creative Memories. Eventually (once Mom and I finish the Studio) Club Create will meet every month and crop at her house, but for now this will be a monthly webisode. Stay tuned for preview pictures and more information.
Well, I've got some more stuff to do this weekend so I'm off. Have a great weekend!
So Spring got off to an interesting start in Dallas this year - it snowed! That's right - snow - like 2+ inches! I spent the second official day of Spring doing laundry and watching the neighbors kids have an all out snowball war beneath my office window. I laughed because I realised that I live in the only state where we truly experience every season....in the same weekend. LOL...
Tonight, I'm sitting in bed, typing on my brand new laptop. It is super fantastic - so high-tech and geeky that even my husband is jealous. :o) We brought it home last week and Dave offered to clean it up - to make sure there weren't any funky programs I wouldn't need. The whole time he kept saying "Oh, you won't like this...it's too heavy." "Oh, I don't know....I think the keys are too different..." It just cracks me up. It is pretty fantastic tho...built in web cam, blue ray, a super awesome graphics card and some super fast processor that makes my old computer look like a dinosaur...and it was pretty great.
Last weekend I spent Saturday at Laura's loading all my new Digital goodness for Storybook Creator Plus. I love love love the digital stuff that Creative Memories has to offer. I can't wait to start designing albums and cards. The other thing I am looking forward to is developing my skills as a hybrid scrapper. There are so many great things you create with Storybook Creator Plus that I can't wait to print them out and incorporate them into my cards and traditional albums.
Speaking of digitial....guess what? I completed my digitial certification classes on the CMC Network. I am now fully digitally endorsed. Want help organizing your digital photos or creating beautiful, digital storybooks? Ask me how...I can help!
In other news - I'm about 3 weeks into Nutrisystem and I'm down 4 pounds. Not a bad start. This week has been a struggle tho. Sunday I just could not stop eating....everything I could get my hands on..if it was edible, I ate it....I am getting back on the band wagon. It was doubly hard because over the weekend Dave's friends brought 2 12 packs of Sodas into the house and a giant bag of Mini Milky Ways. Normally it's no big deal to have that kind of junk in the house...it was hard for me to deal with today tho...I was craving chocolate so bad and I did cave and had a soda.....I told Dave I really need the MilkyWays to disapear. I don't care if he eats them, hides them, takes them to Chris's house..whatever - I just can't deal with them sitting out calling for me to eat them.
Well all, I am off to bed. It's been a long day and tomorrow is going to start early. Good Night CybersSpace!
Well, the weekend is half over and I feel like it was a really good one. Saturday Dave and I researched laptops and I think we finally found one. He's going to order it this afternoon, so it'll be here next week. Yay!
In other news, David and I started Nutrisystem this week. Our meals were delivered Wedneday so Thursday was our first full day on the program. The food isn't bad - like everything else, there are some things I don't like, so I've already started altering my next delivery. The thing I didn't expect was how much food you really eat on the program. The commercials lead you to believe that all you eat is the Nutrisystem food. Well, when that box arrived and I saw how much you eat for breakfast, I paniced. There was no way I was going to survive on that little food. Then I read the meal planner guide and my fears were put to rest. For breakfast you eat their breakfast item, 1 dairy or protien and 1 fruit. For lunch you have their lunch item, 2 veggies, and 1 protien or dairy. between lunch and dinner you have a snack - 1 fruit, 1 dairy or protien. For dinner you have there dinner item, 2 veggies, 1 fruit and 1 fat. Then, if you're a bigger girl like me, and have more to loose, you add a carb to breakfast and dinner, and a fruit to lunch. It hasn't been too bad, but I have to say - stopping the fattening foods cold turkey has been a little difficult this weekend. I think it's because I haven't been keeping as busy as I do at work so I have more time to think about it. I did do a little bad this weekend - but not so bad that I feel defeated. I mean, I didn't go to McDonalds and have a Big Mac or anything - just ate 2 slices of bread with lunch and had some Hershey Kisses after dinner - nothing to toally blow the top off the diet. Dave and I did decide to keep from getting burned out, we are going to cotinue to eat out 2 days a week, so Wednesdays are going to be our new date night and we'll go out to dinner and they we've agreed to eat out once on the weekends. We'll see what happens. :)
Now I have to tell you about something really really cool from Creative Memories. Have you ever wanted to include a special message in your scrapbook or in a gift for that special somebody? Creative Memories has a great way to do just that. They've found a way to put a voice recorder INSIDE one of their super cute Paper Album Kits!
Each kit comes with 1 Paper Album, 14 double-sided sheets of paper , 12 double-sided photo mats , 1 sheet of clear title stickers in black, 1 sheet of epoxy stickers, 1 sheet of die-cut shapes, 20-second, voice-recordable function, 1 envelope. It's a great way to create a special Mother's Day gift, Brithday Card, or just a special gift to share with your friends and family.
Well, that's it for today - I'm off to work on my Simply Beautiful Card Kit. Wanna see more? Visit my CM Website or stay tuned - perhaps a picture will pop up in the next couple days. :)
So Saturday was the Creative Memories Regional Saturday. It was the first I've ever been to, and as a new consultant, it was AMAZING. I to the see first had that this company really, truly stands behind their company motto: Your Life, Your Story, Your Way.
When I talk about Creative Memories, I always go back to a memory from Recollections. A customer once told me that Creative Memories was like scrapbooking with training wheels....Saturday my mind kept going back to that memory and, as I met so many wonderful ladies and saw so many new and awesome products, I had to laugh. If those nay sayers of Yesterday could just see where Creative Memories is now...they would eat their words for sure. This company has come a long way even in the short time that I've been using their albums. With all the fun paper patterns, paper ribbons, flowers, tags, and so much more, the possibilities truly are endless these days. They are also branching off the path of traditional scrapbooking and offering kits to create super cute borders and fun and lovely cards. It makes me so excited to see that I can continue my own growth as an artist while growing as a Creative Memories Consultant.
On a more personal note - real women are selling Creative Memories. This isn't a company focused on money, although sales are important. They really focus on the importance of capturing memories and helping teach others how to do the same. I heard so many great women share touching stories about how Creative Memories changed their lives or the lives of someone they know. I am really, truly excited about being a part of this organization. I can't wait to expand my knowledge and pass what I have learned and my passion for memory keeping on to those around me.
I am also excited about the new goodies - availible now. This week my I want you to check out Simply Beautiful. It really is! :)
Well folks, thanks for stopping by and reading...and stay tuned. I'll be featuring other new products from the New Spring Calendar soon.
Have a great night, and remember - I can help your jpegs live up to their potential...just ask me how!
So, today I am sitting in a classroom, waiting to take a test that will "determine my fate as a leave manager" or something like that. I've been trying to study, but no luck...I feel like I'm in highschool all over again, and I'm all studied up for exams yet I'm stuck with all this time to study for them. So, instead I blog. The last few months have brought some really great changes. In October I changed my name...or Dave would say, I kicked his ass and took his name. :) In November I changed my name on my DL and at work, and in December I made 2 big changes. I've moved to a new position within Cigna - now I am an FMLA Leave Manager (in training for a few more weeks).
I have also decided to become an Independant Consultant for Creative Memories. This is a decision I have been wrestling with for a few years. In the world of Scrapbooking, until recently, they were the company you started with and grew out of as your scrapping became more elaborate. Now they are making great efforts to "catch up" to the more decorative companies within the industry. I have always loved their tools and albums...now I can also proudly say I love their papers and embelishments. When people say "But you don't scrap like a CM scrapper." I can hold my head high, pull out my CM album and say "I do now." :) It'll still be filled with all the stuff I normally use...it'll just be CM too. I am very excited about the opportunities I'll have over the coming year. I know my first quarter will be slow...with all the life changes I'm not in a huge rush to grow my business super quick. I do know, however, that I will be working to grow my business, to teach new people how to capture their photos in their albums or in digital books. I think that is what I miss most from Recollections. Don't get me wrong - the people I worked with were wonderful, and I do miss them - but I really miss the opportunities I had actually working with the new scrapbookers. I loved watching them get excited about finishing pages, ooh and aah over new scrapbook goodies, and I especially love the "light bulb" moment when a new scrapbooker learned how to use a new tool or technique. I also love my upline - Laura is the BEST! Her attitude on CM and scrapbooking is what really sealed the deal for me.
Well, now it's time to take the test....y'all have a great day, and we'll see you on the flip side!
